This burger was previously a Burger of the Month Special that became a permanent fixture of the menu thanks to fan support. For my last burger, I tried the Brunch Burger, which has a fried egg, smoked bacon, and American cheese. Then I went west with the New Mexico Burger, which has queso sauce, roasted greenchiles and pickled red onions this is a must have for pickle lovers.
Smoked American cheese, green onion slaw and mustard barbecue sauce combine to give this burger a distinctly Southern flair. Next up was the Carolina Burger ( below). The chips add crunch and texture, while the red chilies add flavorful spice that is not overpowering. Sampling the new menu offerings will make you feel like a winner, regardless of how much you’ve lost playing the slots.First I tried the Vegas Burger, (left) which is made with white American cheese, Fresno red chilies and barbecue potato chips. Here simple flavors are crafted under the direction of a culinary genius. Yet this is a supercharged version of the classic burger joint. Guests sit at countertop-style tables and the place has a laid-back vibe that harkens back to the ma-and-pa burger-and-shake drive-ins and diners that used to dot the American landscape. The Mohegan Sun location opened in 2009 and is the only one in Connecticut and one of just two in New England the other is in Burlington, Mass. In honor of that and because any month is a good month to visit a world-class burger establishment, I recently stopped by Bobby’s Burger Palace. Recently, the menu at the restaurant was revamped to include two new milkshake flavors ( served with decadently thick homemade whipped cream), a griddled pimento cheese and bacon sandwich, and four new burger styles ( each beautifully highlighting the local flavors of a different region of America).These additions to the menu arrive just in time for National Burger Month (May). This burger lover’s paradise provides guests with a kingdom’s worth of flavor, and now that flavor is expanding.
